I love Spring, seeing all of the flowers bloom, the return of the sunshine and longer days. But, there’s no denying the nights can get a bit chilly still! What better way to stave off the shivers than with a cosy crochet blanket? Isn’t it just blissful when you reach the point in a blanket WIP where you can snuggle under the part you’ve already made?
Because we all love making blankets, I’ve put together a list of five blankets that are brilliant for Spring. Combine pretty pastels with neutrals for a gentle look, or beckon in the warmer weather with vibrant shades. I’d love to see what you make – don’t forget you can tag me on social media at #bellacococrochet. I love to browse your projects!

Ready to get hookin’?

My Wanderer’s Compass Blanket is one of my most popular patterns. This gorgeous throw is made from an advanced granny square that’s perfect for hookers looking for a bigger challenge than the standard granny square. Ambitious beginners looking to develop their skills will love this intuitive pattern, and let’s face it, it makes a really stunning blanket.

By The Sea Blanket is a hugely satisfying make. Whipped up in no time flat, this chunky-weight crochet blanket feels lightweight enough for Spring, but substantial enough to bring comfort. Using just 4 balls of yarn it’s budget-friendly too. Add some coastal chic with natural beach tones or give it a seasonal twist in your favourite pastels. No matter what colour scheme you choose, it will shorely become your go-to blanket for comfort and warmth.

The Linked Hearts Blanket is a pretty little project that’s ideal for testing out your filet skills. Keep things simple with just one colour or follow the pattern and blend sugary sweet shades of pastels. I guarantee you will heart this blanket.

I’m keeping things on the sweet side with this pretty pastel blanket. The Spring Abstract Blanket is hooked up in Aran weight yarn, so it’s a speedy make using solid granny squares. This twist on the classic granny square creates a really soft, snuggly fabric that’s perfect for a baby or lap blanket. I find granny squares so comforting, this is definitely a great self care project!

Finally, one of my personal favourites. The Moss Blanket is SUPER snuggly. Simple and classic, it’s the perfect project to make as a gift for mums-to-be and can be whipped up in any colour scheme you like. Using just basic crochet stitches it also makes a great beginner project helping you practice and improve your skills as you go.

I just got the pattern for the Sea Blanket. I also am crocheting Baby Blanket, it is so beautiful. What should I do for a Border. When I finish, I will get a picture to you.

Increase ch length after 2-4 rows (slowly increase ch length/ch 5, etc) – getting longer and longer). Border will look like lace.
