WARM WEATHER CROCHET
When the weather heats up, it can be difficult to find your motivation and crojo. Finding the right project can be tricky. I mean, who wants to hook up hats and jumpers when the temperature is soaring? Not me, for sure.

Yarn requirements given using Drops Safran 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) 50g balls.
Hooks: 3mm
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
3” width ribbon (enough for your bust width + at least 1m for attaching and trimming)
PATTERN NOTES
This pattern is written using UK terms.
CROCHET TERMS
Chain Stitch (ch): Insert hook, yarn over, pull though loop on the hook.
Chain Space(ch-sp)
Slip Stitch (ss): Insert hook into space, yarn over and pull through stitch and loop on hook
Double Crochet (dc): Insert hook through stitch, yarn over, pull through chain stitch (2 loops on the hook), yarn over, pull through two loops on the hook
Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over, Insert hook through stitch, yarn over, pull through chain stitch (3 loops on the hook), yarn over, pull through two loops on the hook, yarn over, pull through remaining 2 loops.

CHERIE CROCHET CAPELET

Ch 71 (71, 71, 71, 71, 71, 81, 81, 81)
Set up: in addition to chains above, chain and additional 6 chains and insert hook into the last chain of the original starting chain. Tr.
Row 1: *Ch3, miss 4 sts, dc, ch3, miss 4 sts, tr, ch5, tr in same stitch* repeat from * to * until one ch remains. Tr in Final ch, 2ch, tr in same stitch
Row 2: Ch1, turn. *ch3, tr into dc in row below. Ch5, tr in same stitch. Ch3, dc in ch5-sp in previous row.* Repeat from * to * until 3 ch-sps remain. Ch3, tr into dc in row below, ch5, tr in same stitch, ch3, dc in final ch6-sp. Turn.
Row 3: ch6, tr into first dc. *ch3, dc in ch5-sp from row below. Ch3, tr in dc from row below. Ch5, tr in the same st*. Repeat from * to * until 1 ch-sp remains. Ch3, tr in the last st, ch2 and tr into the same st.
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until you have 60 (68, 76, 84, 92, 100, 108, 116, 124) rows. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Block to measurements outlined above.
Cut ribbon to desired length, leaving some excess. Line up the middle of the ribbon with the middle of the longest side of the shawl and pin in place before sewing in place.
Hint: you can use hemming tape too- just make sure that your ribbon and yarn aren’t made of synthetic material!
Trim ribbon to size.
Et voila! You have your own Cherie Crochet Capelet!

I’m Aly, I like bad coffee and bad wine. I stumbled across crochet in 2017 when looking at what to make my goddaughter for her Christening. Since then, yarn has taken over every corner of my house. I’m always itching to get started on a new project and inspiration strikes everywhere… but I never seem to have enough yarn!
When I’m not crocheting, I’m knitting, and when I’m not knitting, you can usually find me scowling over a spreadsheet at my full-time engineering gig that I only attend to fund my yarn habit (and major travelling obsession).
