Today I bring you the Circle of Hope FREE Granny Square Pattern! Isn’t it beautiful?

Rainbow’s are an ever popular symbol of hope in the worlds current climate, so I took inspiration from that and the amazing community (symbolised by the circle) to create this granny square. This stunning granny square is a beginner friendly pattern which will look amazing now matter what colours you choose. I chose to take inspiration from a pastel rainbow (of course!) and I just adore how it’s turned out.

Hey Cheri, Is there a list of yardage requirements for various blanket sizes for the Circle of hope? This is a beautiful block and the Paintbox Yarn is lovely. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Sarah:
I wanted to let you know how therapeutic this Hope Circle Granny Square became in my life. I came across it in June, 2020, at the time of the George Floyd demonstrations. Near the end of that June, our neighborhood experienced several wildfires in the foothills near our homes. No one was hurt, and the fires was controlled quickly. However, the event brought out the neighborhood for many blocks around as we watched the firefighters work. People were gathering, safely 6 feet apart, wearing masks, but very happy to see and visit with other people. As I returned home later that evening, feeling rejuvenated and uplifted, I saw the pattern for the Hope Circle. Immediately I saw it as a metaphor for society. I adapted the circles to be random colors, with the square boarder being either black, white, brown, or tan. It spoke to me about how I hoped that different people in our world could learn to live together in peace and love. I made up an afghan and entered it into an art contest with the theme “All are alike unto God.” I am not expecting to win anything, but it was a very therapeutic experience for me. I learned to watch out for and care for others more intentionally. Thank you for creating this design. Laura Lee Rose

Dear, if only everyone would learn to crochet/knit, the life in this world would be peaceful and happier… Looking for patterns, free and paid, I am so impressed how designers share their items for free or for a small price – ‘Sharing Is Caring’! This way people, who cannot afford to buy patterns, can enjoy and crochet beautiful designs such as this beautiful Circle Of Hope granny square. I’m retired so have time to crochet mainly for charities and friends.
Yes, the title of this square has a deep meaning. The Circle Of Hope has no end so let’s us keep hope for a better, happier, and healthy time for all!

Hi, I’ve really enjoyed completing this blanket, but I’m struggling to find a video about how to complete the border.
I’m not sure if you can use any border to complete the blanket. Could you point me to a video tutorial you’ve done that I could use please. Your video tutorials are absolutely amazing…I’ve completed two blankets already ! Thank you
