There’s something so satisfying about hooking up some homemade homeware. From blankets and cushions to fun little accessories like the Little Rainbow Cloud Hanging and the Bunny Bunting, they all give that little serotonin boost of knowing you’ve made something cosy for your home. If you’re looking for a good self care pattern, I highly recommend this beautiful Coastal Castaway Crochet Cushion from the fabulous Anna of MadeUpStyle.
Let’s start with why this is such a good project for self care.
Firstly, it’s a cushion. There’s nothing better than creating a little nest and spending some time with your hook and yarn, a warm drink and something soothing on your speakers. Piles of cushions make excellent nests. Even better when they’re homemade.
Secondly, the construction. Made up of small circle in a square granny squares this is a highly portable project that you can work on slowly. Each square you finish feels good, and you get a mega boost of happy to your brain when the cushion is finished and put together.
Still need convincing to get this on your hook? This cute crochet cushion is made from Stylecraft Special DK so it’s budget friendly. Which, let’s face it, we ALL need in January.
