The inspiration behind this scarf came from when I created a sample piece for my Cobble Stitch tutorial. I LOVED the texture, the simplicity and I got an instant vision for how I could incorporate it into a project. The Cobble texture somehow reminded me of honeycomb, hence the name HONEY MUSTARD SCARF.

The Yarn

The scarf is made using Paintbox Simply Aran in Mustard Yellow and Champagne White and I just LOVE it. Paintbox Yarns has been one of my favourites for a long time. They offer a HUGE range of colours at such good price point. A few years back, I would always reach for Double Knit yarns, but these days…gimme some Aran weight!! Don’t get me wrong, DK will always be my first love, but I love the feel of Aran and it has the added bonus of working up a little quicker. Can I hear an AMEN!

If you haven’t heard of Paintbox Simply Aran before, it’s an 100% acrylic yarn which is lovely and soft, yet equally as durable making it perfect for Children’s clothes, blankets and toys. PLUS, as I mentioned it comes in a huge range of colours (60 to be precise) making it so easy to suit your own colour needs. I’d LOVE to see this scarf made in different colour ways so make sure you hashtag your projects with #honeymustardscarf (and don’t forget to tag me @bellacococrochet and @paintboxyarns too!)

Keep an eye out on their Instagram too because they have some amazing competitions! Including a chance to create your own colour pack!

Other projects using this yarn include this adorable Mini Bunting
