Unless you’ve been on some kind of looong social media break, you will probably of heard about my BRAND NEW crochet subscription box called the Crochet Society. This box has been many MANY months in the making and I’m so incredibly excited to see so many of you receiving your boxes and falling in love with it. (make sure you use #crochetsociety so I can see your photos)

Today I wanted to share what’s inside the box, it honestly makes my heart burst every time I look at it because it’s SO pretty! You can also find a unboxing video at the base of the post if you prefer to watch the video version. Before we dive in though, I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about the idea behind this box.

HOW IT STARTED

I started making crochet tutorials 5 years ago and I quite legally got hooked on helping others learn new things. Throughout the last 5 years I’ve always looked at ways of helping people out further. I had an idea of a subscription box a few years back but I felt very overwhelmed with the idea and frankly, didn’t even know where to start. So last year I had an offer I couldn’t refuse, the wonderful bunch of people who I had been working with offered to help me with my dream. I would get to curate an amazing box and they would help with the thing I had NO idea how to do! AND THE CROCHET SOCIETY WAS BORN!

I wanted this box to be a gorgeous bit of crochet luxury which crocheters around the world could look forward to on a monthly basis. They could get their well earned ‘me time’ and also feel a part of a community that shares a passion and supports each other. As one of my passions is enabling others to grow their own skills, the learning element behind this box was also a key factor for me, as well as introducing you to new yarn and designers that I know you will love.

SO HERE IT IS! Box one. Inside you will find 2 x 50g balls of West Yorkshire Spinners ‘Bo peep’ yarn which is a super soft luxury baby yarn made up of 52% Falkland Wool and 48% Nylon. Within the magazine included you will find 4 beautiful patterns designed by some of my favourite designers within the community, including Toni from TLYarn Crafts, Lucy from Crafting by Lucy and Jillian from Spinayarn Crochet.  The mini magazine also includes an interview with Too Lipsey from TLYarn Crafts as well as the story behind West Yorkshire Spinners and some tips for taking better photos! One more thing I want to add here, If you’re thinking ‘I can’t read patterns, so this box is not for me’ then don’t worry, I’ve got you! I’ll be doing step by step tutorials for each of the projects which is a perfect opportunity to learn to read patterns.

Inside the box is also a bespoke crochet hook which has been hand made and something you will find ONLY in box one (there will be a new design for each box)! With it’s rose gold hook and polymer handle to match the box, it a stunner for sure and each one is unique. I’ve also included a few crochet goodies too! I love topping up my crochet kit and I find having a notebook around essential, as well as having some sticky notes to mark my place. You’ll also find a post card that says “shh, I’m counting..” which doubles up as a cheat sheet for converting UK and US terms., making something which can be super confusing, really easy!

There’s a SUPER HANDY tape measure, these are just really great for popping in your bag when you need to measure gauge or projects. Finally we have the super cute stitch markers because….well, you can never have to many of them can you?! I love the lobster claw clasps on these, let me know what’s your favourite type of stitch marker.

SO I hope you’ve enjoyed looking in box one! And if your kicking yourself because you didn’t get your hands on one then don’t worry, there were a few left over and you now have the option to purchase box one when you sign up for box two!

Click here to get box one!

I obviously LOVE the box, but don’t just take my word for it, here’s some other HONEST reviews from around the world!

Hi please can you let me know how I can find out if I’ve subscribed to get the boxes each month without requesting it. I received the first box and I love it, but then I received an email saying sign up for box 2 and I can’t find anything to say I m already signed up. Thankyoy
