Crochet Two Rows At A Time

Ever wanted to crochet faster? Today I’m going to show you how to crochet two rows at a time! Yes, you read that right, TWO ROWS AT ONCE! This little crochet hack is perfect for larger projects like blankets and cushions to help you build your projects that little bit faster. You will find the written instructions below as well as the beginner-friendly video tutorials at the base of the post. You’ll find them available in both right and left-handed versions too.

Materials and Tools needed

 Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Fuscia

Hook: 4.5mm (7)

This pattern gives you the basic principles and is designed to help you create your own projects.

Video tutorials can be found at the base of the post.

Although the video tutorials are beginner-friendly, having a good understanding of a Treble Crochet (US Double crochet) would be an advantage.

Pattern Instructions

Chain desired width +6

Row 1&2: YO and insert hook into 3rd ch from hook. YO skip 2 ch, insert hook in next st. YO pull through. (YO pull through 2 loops) four times.

*YO insert hook into shorter diagonal post of st. YO insert hook in next st along the ch. YO pull through. (YO pull through 2 loops) four times; repeat from * to the end of row.

Row 3&4: Ch 5, YO and insert hook into 3rd ch from hook. YO insert hook in next st. YO pull through. (YO pull through 2 loops) Four times.

    can this be done with half double crochet/half treble?

      I’ve only seen this technique used for treble (US double) stitches but it’s something I will look into for future tutorials
