Introducing the Granny Square Baby Blanket. This pattern is your chance for a bigger project using much loved granny square! I’ve always loved crocheting baby blankets, the satisfying feeling of making a blanket without it taking weeks or even months. So if you’ve never crocheted a blanket before this is a great project to get you started.
After getting to grips with crochet the first ever blanket I crocheted was a giant continuous granny square, I made this blanket for my Grandma using different shades of purple yarn, her favourite colour. Whenever I crochet granny square blankets now I always think back to this project. Granny squares are very nostalgic to me.
Learning Elements:
Working in the round with a magic round but turning the work. Simple colour changes.

For this pattern I used DK (8-ply/light worsted) Rico Baby DK in colours; white X5, light grey X1, Flamingo X1, Ice Green X1 and Ice Blue X1.
A huge thank you to Love Crafts for offering yarn support!
Alternative Yarn Suggestions
To make the Granny Square Baby Blanket using an alternative yarn I suggest the following three yarns, all of these yarns can be purchased on Love Crafts. I always recommend doing a gauge swatch whether you are using the same yarn used in the pattern or an alternative yarn.
