Hook: 5mm hook or size appropriate for your yarn

This pattern gives you the basic principles for the crochet Little Fans stitch, designed to help you create your own projects.

Turning chains do count as stitches as listed.
CROCHET TERMS
Chain (ch): Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook
Double Crochet (dc): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through two loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through both loops.
Stitch(es) (st(s))
Treble Crochet (tc): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space, yarn over, draw up a loop (3 loops on hook), (yarn over, draw through 2 loops) twice.

LITTLE FANS CROCHET STITCH PATTERN
Foundation chain: Chain a multiple of 6 to desired width.
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, 5tc in fifth ch from hook, (sk 2 ch, dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 5tc in next ch) across, ending with skip 2 ch, dc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as tc plus ch-2), turn, (dc in middle tc of next fan, ch 2, tc in dc between fans, ch 2) across, ending with tc in final st.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as a tc), turn, 2tc into st at base of ch, dc in next dc, (work 5tc in next tc, dc in next dc) across, work 3tc in third ch of ch-5.
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc plus ch-2), turn, (tc into dc between fans, ch 2, dc in center tc of next fan, ch 2) across ending with dc in third ch of ch-3.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, (5tc into next tc, dc in next dc) across, ending with dc in ch-1.
Repeat Rows 2-5 to desired length.
