Today I’m happy to welcome Hayley Hall from @hellomooncrochet back to the blog to bring you this gorgeous Crochet Brook Cowl! It’s so perfect for Autumn / Winter or maybe even a Christmas Gift!
Materials and Tools needed
1 x 100g Caron Pantone in Morning Blues
Chunky, 116m per 100g, 60% acrylic, 20% nylon, 20% merino wool
6mm Crochet Hook
Darning needle and scissors for sewing and weaving ends
Measurements
Measures approx. 18x54cm
Tension
12 tr over 6 rows=10cms
Pattern Notes
*Starting chain does not count as a stitch throughout
*2dc means dc in next 2 sts
*to adjust sizing use a starting chain in a multiple of 12 plus 1 for turning
*use each of the 5 colours in turn, from darkest to lightest, to create a gradient effect.
*when changing colour fasten off leaving 20cm tail for sewing. Join next colour to first st of previous row (no need to turn)

Reverse Double Crochet(s): rdc(s): Insert hook into previous stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Half Treble Crochet(s): htr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining three loops.
Treble Crochet(s): tr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Double Treble(s): dtr(s): Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have four loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Pattern
Written in UK terms.
Row 1: ch61, dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc to end. Turn. 60 sts
Row 2: ch2, htr to end. Turn.
Row 3: ch1, *dc, 2htr, 2tr, 2dtr, 2tr, 2htr, dc, repeat from * to end. Fasten off leaving 20cm tail.
Row 4: Join new colour to 1st st of previous row, ch2, *dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, 2tr, dtr, repeat from * to end. Turn
Row 5: ch1, *dc, 2htr, 2tr, 2dtr, 2tr, 2htr, dc, repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 6: ch2, *dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, 2tr, dtr, repeat from * to end, fasten off leaving 20cm tail.
Row 7: Join new colour to 1st st of previous row, ch1, *dc, 2htr, 2tr, 2dtr, 2tr, 2htr, dc, repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 8: ch2, *dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, 2tr, dtr, repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 9: Repeat as in Row 3.
Row 10: Repeat as in Row 4.
Row 11: Repeat as in Row 5.
Row 12: Repeat as in Row 6.
Row 13: Repeat as in Row 7.
Row 14: Repeat as in Row 2.
Row 15: ch1, dc to end. Fasten off leaving 20cm tail.
Finishing: Lightly block if needed then sew the 2 edges together using matching colour tails and weave in all ends.
