Today I am welcoming guest designer Laura Algarra to the BLOG with a beautiful crochet pattern that she has put together for you. This wonderful winter cape has lovely stitch definition and an elegant texture, thanks to the always versatile combo of Back Post Stitches.

Pattern Notes
If you want to adapt your cape, use always a foundation chain that is a multiple of 6, so you can follow the pattern as it is written, and your cape will grow with the same proportions as my example.
The length of the cape can also be easily adapted, you can make it longer or shorter, depending on your preferences.

“There is something whimsical about a winter cape. It is a piece that makes me think of the past and is so elegant. I tend to design simple garments that can be wore with very different styles. The Valencia Cape is just that, a simple cape, crocheted from top to bottom in the round. It has lovely stitch definition and an elegant texture, thanks to the always versatile combo of Back Post Stitches. It is a great opportunity to learn how to work a garment in the round and how to use simple stitches to give texture and volume to your makes.”
